ADHD Coaching
“I’m loud. I’m funny. I’m A LOT.
But I’m not too much.”
- Celeste Barber
Welcome, fellow neurodivergent brains. Whether you are newly diagnosed, are self diagnosed, or have known for a long time, life with ADHD can feel pretty overwhelming…
You might feel like you’re behind or failing at work - stuck in a Boredom-Burnout cycle that you can’t break out of
You might feel like a terrible friend, partner or parent - losing track of events, people and feeling like a burden
You might also have lost trust and confidence in yourself - your choices and your inner voice and drive
Well this page is for you. Here you can find out a bit more about what ADHD coaching is, how it can help people with ADHD, and what it’s like to be coached by me.
What is ADHD coaching?
Most people with ADHD have struggled at some point in their life with challenges around organisation, motivation and memory; constantly losing keys, forgetting to pay bills, being unable to manage their workload or falling behind in their studies. And if they were late diagnosed, they may have spent a lot of their lives thinking this was just because they were a ‘bad’ or ‘lazy’ or ‘defective’ person, creating a huge amounts of shame, self doubt and anxiety. Sound familiar?
When I’m coaching people, the ADHD coaching we do aims to do four things:
Understand yourself: Help you to understand your brain a bit better, and what ADHD means for you - how it shows up, and where
Manage your challenges: Help you develop strategies and coping mechanisms that really work, and find way to build them into your life
Lean into your strengths: Help you identify what makes you amazing, and how you can bring more of that to your life
Re-develop your self-confidence and trust: Help you be kinder to yourself, build confidence, and feel more comfortable in your own skin
Coaching can help manage ADHD either without medication, or alongside it as a complimentary tool. As Leanne Maskell of ADHD Works says - ‘pills don’t give you skills’. (Please note that I make no comment on the value of medication - choosing to take it is an incredibly personal and individual choice).
What is ADHD?
ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is a developmental disorder affecting the brain, particularly the part of the brain that controls ‘executive function’, which is our ability to control and regulate attention, energy, memory and impulses.
People with ADHD typically have challenges with:
Planning, organising and prioritising
Finding and maintaining motivation
Sustaining and shifting attention
Using working memory
Regulating and managing emotions
But they can also have incredible strengths around:
Creative thinking and problem solving
Innovation
Empathy and compassion
Intuition and reading emotions
What support do I offer?
I offer 1:1 ADHD coaching for adults with ADHD (you don’t need to have an official diagnosis for us to work together), and also for partners / friends or family members who would like to understand a loved one better.
Some of my programmes are below.
As well as the tools and frameworks developed by ADHD Works, I use a range of techniques from different schools of coaching, including Co-Active and Gestalt, and creative techniques that aim to get clients out of their heads and exploring their challenges in a different way.

Why choose me?
I have lived experience
I have ADHD, and was late diagnosed in my 30s, so I know how it feels to go through life feeling like you’re weird, or behind, or out of step. I’ve been told I’m ‘too loud’ and ‘too much’ and ‘too sensitive’, so I can empathise fully with my clients.
I’ve also done the corporate work thing (as a consultant for over 10 years) - I know what a working life with ADHD feels like, and can help my clients identify effective strategies that will work in their environment.
I create a safe space
I bring a warm and open energy to my coaching, creating a safe and trusting environment for clients to be vulnerable, in order to grow. I will be your champion and your critical friend, acknowledging and supporting you, as well as holding you to account, so you can create a life that works for you and your ADHD.
I am accredited as a coach
I have trained extensively as a coach, not only being Certified with ADHD Works (one of the first organisations to offer ADHD Coaching training in the UK), but also completing courses with the Coaches Training Institute (in Co-Active coaching) and The Academy of Executive Coaching.
In addition I am an Accredited Coach at Practitioner level with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council, and adhere at all times to their Code of Ethics. Coaching is not a regulated industry, but having industry accreditation allows me to give clients assurance that I have met a strict set of requirements, and that there is a body that they can refer to if they have any serious issues.
My ADHD coaching programmes
Who am I? - Strengths and challenges definition session

Eek! I need help now. - 3-week intensive programme
A short, sharp period of coaching, when you’re looking to really understand what ADHD means for you, identify your strengths and challenges, and get some intensive input on personalised strategies to help you manage.
Dig deeper / move forward. - 3- or 6-month programme
When you want to take a bit more time to understand your ADHD, have support for accountability in developing new and personalised strategies, with time to test and implement them, and potentially touch on wider work and life questions.
